I Finally Got It!

I’m so excited, I finally upgraded to an IPhone.

My husband has taught me to be a Mac Lover, we got our first IMac 9 years ago and I have never looked back.

I feel old bragging that I have upgraded to a smartphone, but seriously this thing this is super cool!

Diva - couldn't get her little butt wet!!

There was a time in my life when I set the alarm clock for the last possible moment, allowing me just enough time to shower, get dressed, apply makeup and get out the door in a record amount of time to make it to work.

There was a time in my life when I slept in until noon on the weekends.

There was a time in my life when I went back to sleep after realizing it was going to be a snowday.

There was a time in my life when I took a nap on the weekends if I was tired from staying up late the night before.

There was a time in my life where I went to bed with a pretty good idea that I would not be awakened until I was good and ready.

That time of my life is over!

It just happens to be one of those days.

It’s the 1st day of summer, but instead of feeling like summer it is cold and raining.

Kahlan did not sleep well last night and woke up complaining that her “butt hurts”… she means her tummy hurts.

After changing 6 very messy diapers on a little girl who is almost potty trained, I decided that Kahlan would not be able to go to school and that I would be staying home with her.

I was super excited when I got her down for her nap without many tears, which was another clue she was sick.  And so I decided I would try to get a few minutes of shut eye and for the next 2 hours every time I would dose off my cell phone would ring, the home phone would ring, or the cat would freak out because it had started to thunder.  Needless to say I did not sleep.

Kahlan slept for 3 hours, third clue she was sick… she never sleeps for 3 hours!

My husband got home, I figured I would get a much needed break from taking care of my sick baby, seems he was just as tired as I was.

I hate it when my little girl is not herself and feels icky.

So like I said it just happens to be one of those days.

Rain Rain Go Away…

We have had terrible weather this summer so far.

There has only been one day that was warm enough to put out Kahlan’s swimming pool.

All weekend she was not able to go outside because of the rain.

She stands at the sliding glass door and points at her swing and cries.

If it stops raining for even the briefest moment, she will run to us and announce “NO RAIN, NO RAIN!”

She doesn’t understand that everything is very wet and muddy and it’s still too icky to go outside.

I tried to take her outside for a bit under the shelter of an umbrella, she did not grasp the concept that she had to stay under the umbrella in order to stay dry.

I feel so bad for her… all the poor kid wants to do is go outside and swing.

So Rain Rain Go Away…

And bring back the smile to my little girl’s face.

Swingset!

I’m in sales.  I’m a pretty good salesperson.  Sometimes I find that I need to pull out all the stops at home more than I do at work.

I finally “sold” Scott on the idea of building Kahlan a swingset.  He tends to be my hardest sale most of the time.

So my dad, who would do absolutley anything for Kahlan, came up a couple of weeks ago to help Scotty build it in the backyard.

I am so glad that they built it.  Kahlan could spend every waking moment in her swing.  From the moment she wakes up to the moment she goes to bed at night she asks to go outside to swing.

We are enjoying every minute of the beautiful weather when we can.

It feels so good to be outside after such a long winter stuck in the house.
